Parents and schools need to work together for the betterment of the students. Parents play an important role in providing support and building the confidence of their children. Parents should check some of the tips or activities they can use to develop their child’s confidence and improve their school experience.
During a meeting held on June 18, 2013, the Meriwether County Board of Education approved the closing of the district's Drivers' Education program. Limited financial resources required difficult decisions to be made with priority attention given to courses that are required by the Georgia Department of Education. Drivers' Education was eliminated because it is not a required course; however, the administration of Greenville High School recognizes the value of the program to our students and families. Therefore, we wish to be as helpful as possible to our families by providing information about options that are available to students who are seeking to satisfy the requirements of "Joshua's Law." Remember, the completion of a drivers' education course is required only for students seeking a license before their 17th birthday. For a list of state-approved programs, you may visit http://www.dds.ga.gov/teens/DTschools.aspx.
For students who requested Drivers' Education at Greenville High School for the 2013-2014 school year, you will be assigned to an alternate elective. If you wish to communicate a request for an alternate elective, you may do so by emailing our guidance counselor, Gladys Griffin at [email protected]
